Because this is more than just an oil for hydration it is an active compound that is a botanical version of retinol, there are multiple ways you can use it. Usage is clearly explained and I love their advice to mix a few drops with my moisturizer for day time and then apply directly to the skin at night. This gives users with super sensitive skin the option to always buffer the Bakuchiol. I found it so gentle that direct application at night worked well.
