These 20 brands based in the South and Southeast are taking part in the 2027 Clean Beauty Awards, organized by CertClean. This year’s program brings together 151 participating brands from 18 countries, with 361 products entered across 21 award categories and evaluated by 97 independent judges.

1. Omayma Skin
Location: Clearwater, Florida
Omayma Skin is a botanical skincare brand founded by Omayma Ramzy, a licensed esthetician of North African heritage with more than 15 years in the industry. It makes small-batch facial oils and serums, including the Bedouin Elixir Facial Oil and Active Rejuvenation Oasis Serum, using cold-pressed botanicals such as prickly pear seed, argan and Moroccan tansy.
2. Prep U
Location: Austin, Texas
Prep U has made personal care for teens since 2017. Its formulas use plant-based surfactants, amino acid cleansers and essential oil blends instead of synthetic fragrance and sulfates. The line includes body wash, deodorant, bar soap and face care.
Location: Savannah, Georgia
True Naturals is a Savannah, Georgia brand that makes hand-mixed body care products from natural, plant-based ingredients and essential oils. The brand positions its products as alternatives to conventional cleaning and skin care products and publishes information about its production process.
4. Apothesea
Location: Houston, Texas
Apothesea is a skin care brand founded in 2024 in Houston, Texas, developed by the team behind Source Vitál Apothecary. It draws on old-world apothecary traditions and plant science to make minimalist skin care for aging skin. Products are formulated in small batches using marine algae, essential oils and whole-plant botanicals, without synthetic fragrance or dyes.
5. AVEG Botanicals (Bebot Simple Soap)
Location: Mississippi
Bebot Simple Soap is a Filipino-inspired personal-care brand created by pharmacist Avvy Capapas, founder of AVEG Botanicals LLC, after her own experience with sensitive skin. The brand makes plant-based, multifunctional everyday soap with a short ingredient list. Its formulation has a patent application filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Location: Austin, Texas
Boho Aromatic is a family-run skincare brand based in Austin, Texas. It makes plant-based, vegan products in small batches, including facial serums, creams, cleansers, exfoliants and facial mists formulated with plant extracts, hydrosols, oils and actives. The brand publishes its ingredients and uses eco-conscious packaging.
Location: Athens, Georgia
Frankly Real Organics is an independent fragrance and personal-care brand founded by Carolyn Kirsch in Athens, Georgia, in October 2025. It began with organic deodorants, yoga mat sprays and household products before moving into fragrance. Its signature scent, Air de Lilas, is a lilac fragrance made with organic alcohol and organic essential oils.
Location: Austin, Texas
Frøya Organics was founded in Norway in 2024 by Tobias Nervik and Daniel Hoftun. The line draws on Viking-era plant traditions and is aimed at aging skin and hormonal changes in women. Its formulas use Arctic botanicals such as sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides) and calendula, and are free of synthetic ingredients. Packaging is glass jars with recycled plastic lids.

Greenmade goods is a small-batch botanical nail care brand based in Nashville, Tennessee. It makes cuticle oil in a twist-pen applicator, hand-assembled with fractionated coconut oil, sweet almond oil and vitamin E, with dried botanicals visible in the barrel. The brand lists every ingredient on its website.
Location: Jonesville, Louisiana
Lacy Branch Botanicals was founded in 2024 by herbalist, artist and educator Samantha Kent and is located on Lacy Branch creek in central Louisiana. Its first products are The Face Ritual, a face care line formulated with botanical ingredients chosen from herbalist traditions.
Location: Tarpon Springs, Florida
Lemongrass Spa was founded in 2002 by Heidi and Bryan Leist and is headquartered in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Heidi began making skincare and body care in small batches while pregnant with their first child. The privately owned company now sells more than 300 products across sunscreen, skincare, hair care, body care and makeup, and runs annual giving campaigns.
Location: Parkland, Florida
Milk & Butterflies is a Florida-based women's wellness and intimate care brand launched in 2025 by entrepreneur Shirley Zohar. It makes intimate care and body products from concentrated botanical ingredients, formulated without water, fillers or unnecessary additives.
Location: Clearwater, Florida
NaturSense is a family-owned personal care and wellness brand based in Florida, founded by Maida Candler and Bill Cantle. It launched on Amazon in 2015 with an organic aloe vera gel and now makes U.S.-produced products with organic and naturally derived ingredients, including aloe vera gel and castile soap. The founders previously worked in market research and technology consulting.
14. Nordic Organic
Location: West Palm Beach, Florida
Nordic Organic is a Finnish-inspired wellness brand launched in 2024, with products made in Finland. Its skincare collection uses organic birch sap in place of water, combined with Nordic botanicals, and includes a Face Mist, Vitamin C Serum and Face Cream. Products are ECOCERT COSMOS Organic certified and vegan, and ship from a solar-powered warehouse in West Palm Beach, Florida.
15. Partake Bodycare
Location: San Antonio, Texas
Partake Bodycare was founded by Nicole Campbell in San Antonio, Texas, and launched in 2024. It makes skincare-focused bath soaks for sensitive skin, formulated with skincare ingredients such as beta-glucan.
Location: Daytona Beach, Florida
Pevonia is a natural skincare brand for professional estheticians, offering face, body and hair products. It does not test on animals and includes a range of vegan products. The brand states a commitment to sustainability in its manufacturing and delivery.
Location: Houston, Texas
Source Vitál Apothecary is a family-owned natural beauty and wellness company in Houston, Texas, founded in 1989 with roots in spa therapy. It makes small-batch skincare, body care and aromatherapy products in-house from plant-based ingredients and trace minerals from the sea, without synthetic fragrance.
18. Transderma
Location: Pompano Beach, Florida
Transderma makes skincare serums developed by Alvin Ronlán Docent, Ph.D., drawing on more than 30 years of research into natural actives such as vitamins. Each serum contains a small number of selected, natural active ingredients.

Urthy is a skincare, body care and home fragrance brand based in Georgia, founded by Jen Rotondo and launched in 2021. She began formulating after an autoimmune diagnosis led her to remove toxins from her routine. The brand offers all body products in fragrance-free versions as well as a range of scented ones.
20. withSimplicity
Location: Harrisonburg, Virginia
withSimplicity is a skincare and makeup brand based in Harrisonburg, Virginia, that makes small-batch, fragrance-free products to simplify beauty routines. The company also operates The Skin Spa, a clean esthetics treatment space, and a licensed esthetics school that trains skincare professionals.
