How many great beauty brands have you never heard of?
With so many skincare, body care and personal care products competing for attention, it's easy to encounter the same handful of brands again and again. But beyond the familiar names are independent American businesses creating products with their own approaches to ingredients, formulation and everyday beauty routines.
And there's another reason to look closer to home.
Choosing to support USA-based businesses can help strengthen local entrepreneurship, support jobs and keep more economic activity within American communities. For smaller beauty brands competing against much larger companies, every new customer can make a difference.
Among the participants in the 2027 Clean Beauty Awards are 73 brands based in the USA. This round-up brings them together in one place, offering a starting point for discovering businesses you might otherwise overlook.
Some names may be familiar. Others could be completely new to you.
About the Clean Beauty Awards
Now in its 12th year, the Clean Beauty Awards are organized by CertClean as an international, performance-based program. Participating brands submit products that are used and evaluated by independent judges over a multi-month judging period.
The 2027 program brings together:
- 151 participating brands from 18 countries
- 361 product entries across 21 award categories
- 97 independent judges using the products in real life
- a multi-month judging period, giving every product time for genuine, everyday use
Brands can’t pay for placement and there’s no public voting — judges assess products on performance, user experience and consistency.

With that background, let’s meet the 73 U.S.-based brands taking part in this year’s Awards.
To make browsing easier, we’ve grouped them by region — so you can find brands close to home or explore what’s happening in other parts of the country.

Supporting local doesn't mean limiting your choices. It means discovering more of the businesses contributing to your country's beauty landscape.
Take a look at the brands that catch your attention, explore their products and see which ones deserve a place in your routine.
